Simple DIY Facial You Can Do At Home

How time flies and beauty fades! I remember growing up with a lovely skin free of blemishes. Now, as I’m getting older, I have to consistently take care of my face to discourage untimely wrinkles and blemishes.

Your face deserves some love every now and then, especially if you do not follow a good skincare regime. The best thing you can do for your face apart from eating healthy and working out is to pamper it with a good diy facial. To rejuvenate your skin doesn’t call for a visit to the spa all the time. You can achieve great results using items you already have at home.

First step: Steaming

Starting with steaming your face is important because it opens up your pores in readiness to release toxins and also allows proper penetration of the ingredients you’ll be applying. It also helps with acne by making extraction easier.

You can do this on the cheap by using a bowl and boiled water for steam. To steam your face, lean over a bowl of hot boiled water and cover your head with a piece of cloth or towel. That way the vapor will not escape until you are done. Your steaming should take between 5 to 10 minutes. To get the best out of your steamy session, you can add essential oils or herbs to the water.

If you want to skip a few steps, you can opt for a facial steamer or for facial system like Lumi Spa to deep cleanse your face and get your pores open.

Second step: Honey cleansing or cleansing wash

The next step is to apply honey to your face so that the antibacterial and enzymes contained in it will penetrate your pores and release the trapped in toxins. Make sure the honey is organic to get the best result. Leave the honey on for about a minute or two and then wash off with warm water. This process leaves your skin looking supple and well hydrated.

If putting honey on your face does not seem appealing, you can use a good facial cleanser like Pure Cleansing Gel that dissolves dirt.

Third step: Exfoliation

You only get to reveal a new skin when you exfoliate to remove the dead layers of skin. You can grab your favorite exfoliant scrub or go for the diy method.

If you want to make your own, make sure to use items that don’t scratch or damage the face. You’ll need any mild particles. I find ground avocado seed very good for exfoliating. Gently buff your face with the particle in a circular motion for about two minutes. Wash it off afterward with warm water.

Fourth step: Face masking

This step in your diy facial is purely up to you to decide what you want to use as a face mask. I have a thing for face mask, so I would not skip this step. Face masking leaves your face refreshed and depending on mask, hydrated, plump, or glowing.

You can choose to use a freshly made DIY Face Mask, or use a quality one from the store or a sheet mask like TULA.

After applying the mask, lay in a warm, comfortable and dim environment so that you can spend some time meditating or relaxing for the duration of the mask which is usually between 15 to 20 minutes. You can finish it off with a hot bath if time permits.

Fifth step: Toning

You can’t complete a facial session without applying a toner to your face. This closes up the pores so that it’s not open to toxins or gets clogged again. You can also apply an anti-aging spray like Vitamin C.

Sixth step: Hydration

Feel free to apply your favorite facial cream to feed your new skin with moisture. And you’re done!

Getting facials is no longer going to cost you much since you can do it from the comfort of your home. If you like this diy facial suggestion let me know in the comment section.
