6 Easy Steps For A Natural Makeup Look

Summer is here and the hot weather can destroy makeup pretty fast. Even if you’re using the best setting spray, heat and humidity can cause foundation to look oily and powder to appear cakey.

I switch between a no-makeup look and glam often, but in the summer I’m pretty basic. It is so hot here in GA, that some days I just want a simple face.

Other’s are opting for a natural look too. The look is trending with makeup artist and beauty influencers across the world.

I remember watching Beyonce Knowles perform on stage at the United Nations convention with the theme “I Was Here”. She looked amazing and her face was made to look very natural. Now, Im sure her makeup artist work many hours on that, but you don’t need too. In the real do it yourself makeup world, it does not take hours to have a pretty simply makeup look.

The no makeup-makeup look is rising in popularity with busy women and and those that like a simple look. Not everyone To pull the soft makeup off, you don’t need a ton of cosmetics. It’s all about finding the right balance in choosing your makeup colors and products.

Below are 6 steps to help you get started and nail this trending look while it’s still hot.

1.  Prep Your Face

If you want your finished made-up face to look natural, you should endeavor to thinly moisturize your face to get it all plumped up and hydrated. Moisturizer is important for even skintone to avoid dry patches.

2. BB Cream or Foundation?

You need a base for your makeup and that is where BB cream or foundation comes in. Whichever one you are comfortable with, dab the BB cream or foundation on different parts of your face and blend it in with a flat brush or sponge. For a long-lasting makeup and seamless finish, damp your beauty sponge with a little water and go over once again to make sure that there are no lines or streaks on your face. While at it, don’t forget concealer for your under eye and other highlight points like the bridge of the nose, the forehead, and the chin.

If you don’t need 100% full coverage, I’d opt for a BB Cream because they are lightweight and contain moisturizer (allowing you to skip step 1).

3. Blush

Although we are gunning for a natural look, we can’t do that without giving some life to your cheeks. Therefore, you should apply light blush to the apples of your cheeks for that extra pop. Make sure you blend it out properly so as to get a diffused and soft finish. A little bronzer along your jawline, cheekbones, and temples will also help in warming up your skin.

4.  Eyebrow

Start by brushing out your brows with a spoolie and drawing a stroke-like line with an eye pencil or a brow powder. Pencils give you a more precise brow while powder gives a natural and diffused look. But whichever one you choose, try to make it look natural by going in with a spoolie again.

5. Eyeshadow and Mascara

You still need to apply eyeshadow even as our aim is to get a no-makeup look. Choose a brown shade that you are comfortable with and carefully apply it to your crease. Go ahead and blend it out completely. Make sure you’re using the right eyeshadow brushes. Next is to go in with your mascara. A single coat that reaches every single top and bottom lash is all you need.

6. Lips

You don’t need a bright lipstick color if you want to achieve the no-makeup look. A nude or pink lip gloss that matches your skin tone will do.

And that’s all you need for a natural makeup look.
