Happy Monday beautiful people! Today we have another Makeup Monday with an amazingly talented self-taught artist! This uber creative MUA loves a dramatic eyeliner and has one hell of an imagination.
Meet Sheana Rivero AKA Epic Werk, a Florida based self-taught makeup artist that can slay the day away. Sheana is mostly self taught, however did learn techniques while employed by MAC.
Q: How long have you enjoyed the art of makeup?
A: I have been in love with makeup for about 11 years now.
Q: What sparked your interest in makeup?
A: I started watching YouTube videos and found tutorials very interesting. The interest in learning the skill grew from there.
Q: How long did it take you to feel confident enough to show your work off?
A: Took me about a year before I actually started taking pictures of my work and posting it on Instagram
Q: What technique has been your hardest to learn?
A: It took me YEARS to figure out how to apply false lashes!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A: The dream is to be creating beauty content full time.
Q: For everyday makeup looks, do you like a natural or glam look?
A: I’m super casual on regular days. I just fill my brows and maybe apply some concealer if I’m looking extra tired.
Q: Whats your favorite makeup color combination?
A: I LIVE for bright color combos. I like to hop around the color wheel and creating interesting combos.
Q: Do you like a small or dramatic eyeliner wing?
A: DRAMATIC!
Q: Do you like working with cream or powder products?
A: Powder on my eyes, cream on my face.
Q: What type of eyeliner do you like to work with (gel, pencil, ect.)?
A: Gel liner is my favorite. Usually super pigmented and very easy to apply.
Q: If you had to pick between highlighter or blush, which one would you pick and why?
A: Blush definitely. For someone like me with a round face, blush acts as a contour and emphasizes my cheek bones.
Q: Do you prefer setting powder or spray? Why?
A: Spray. I feel like it just helps all those powder products melt into your face.
Q: How many makeup brushes do you own?
A: Around 50.
Q: What’s your favorite brand currently?

Q: Is there one beauty tool you can’t imagine living without?
A: Brow product
Q: How do you clean your makeup brushes?
A: I use baby shampoo and one of those cleaning mitts you can swirl the brushes around on.
Q: If you could only use one eyeshadow palette for the rest of your life, which palette would you choose?
A: I could live happily with the Norvina 3 palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills.
Q: Do you have a favorite lip color?
A: I’m definitely a peachy nude gloss girl most the time. If I’m glaming it up I go for a deep berry tone.
Q: Lipstick or gloss?
A: Gloss
Q: Matte or satin finished lips?
A: Matte
Q: Have you had any permanent makeup procedures?
A: No. I couldn’t imagine doing any. I’m to indecisive and constantly changing my style.
Q: Have you ever experienced a funny makeup blooper?
A: My eyes tend to water a lot during my makeup process. So I always end up wiping my eyes and my lashes stick to my eyelid.
Q: What tips can you give to someone that is struggling to learn?
A: Stick with it. It gets frustrating at times but eventually you’ll get better. Keep watching YouTube videos and practice practice practice.
Q: What has been your favorite creation thus far?
A: What did you use to create it?I’m very proud of my Halloween series so far. 15 looks total by the 31st. Lots of face paint, glitters, costumes, props, the works.
