ScarAway Scar Removing Treatment Review

Do you have any scars that you would like to hide or shrink? I think many of us do!

Today, I’d like to talk about a scar removing product I’ve been using to review. It’s called ScarAway and is an over-the-counter scar treatment. I’ve been using it for 6 weeks now on one specific scar. Just an FYI, I received the ScarAway for free to try and review from Influnster.

How do I use ScarAway?

The kit comes with a gel and sheet. They recommend you use the sheet (which looks like a bandaid) 12-23 hours per day. You alternate between the sheets and gel to keep the scar covered 24/7. Anytime the sheet is not on, you should apply the ScarAway gel. This means you need to be committed 24/7 while using it.

What type of scars does the treatment work on?

The scar treatment is designed for hypertrophic scars and keloids from surgery, injury, burns, acne, cuts, and insect bites.

My thoughts and review

After skin cancer left me with some pretty ugly scars, I was excited to possibly fade and shrink my largest scar on my back. This particular scar can be noticed when I wear low cut tops and my swimming suit.

My largest scar

This scar bothers me because people often ask how I got it. That leaves me feeling the need to talk about it and honestly, I hate talking about it.

After 5 weeks of use, my scar looks the same.

After using ScarAway 6 weeks

No color change and no size reduction. I’ve used it religiously exactly like the directions say. The only time I didn’t have the gel or patch on was during showers.

Now, I’d like to point out a few things.

I have sensitive skin and have experienced no irritation at all.

I have saw photos of people who have good results. I’ve also read mixed reviews and good reviews about the scar treatment. I just so happen to be someone it has not worked on.

Now, after reading on their website, I see where they recommend using ScarAway on newly healed wounds for the best results. They recommend starting treatment a few weeks after the wound is healed. In my case, that could be why I didn’t see the results I was hoping for. The scar I was treating was about two years old.

The FAQ on the website says the scar remover can be used on older scars too but can take 90 days or more to see results. From the other reviews I’ve read, it looks like it may work best on newly formed scars.

The recommended treatment time is 60-90 days. However, being that I see no difference at all yet, I’ve elected to stop treatment.

Have you used ScarAway and had good results? What are your thoughts?

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
